AGM

The Annual General Meeting  (AGM) for the Adamstown New Lambton Athletics Club will be held as follows:

ANLAC has been well served by its committee members and we would welcome new members to the committee to ensure the ongoing success of the club. So please come and join us on 14th May and have a say in the success and the future of Adamstown New Lambton Athletics Club.
 
Who can vote?
Generally speaking each family within ANLAC has the capacity for at least one vote at our meetings. Voting membership is granted to all athletes of ANLAC over the age of 18, one parent or guardian of an athlete registered with ANLAC (where the athlete is less than 18 years of age) and life members with the club are also able to vote. Other individuals are able to become financial members of the club and are hence entitled to vote.
 
Why vote?
By attending our regular Committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting you will get a say in how ANLAC is run and organised, what we spend our money on and what can be improved. This gives you a voice in the ongoing future of the athletics club that you and/or your child compete at. At the AGM you will also get an opportunity to determine who will be in the positions on the general committee and executive committee for the ongoing management of the club.
 
What happens at the AGM?
1. Election of Committee members.
Following reporting and closeout of the preceeding season and as directed by the Constitution, all current committee positions will be declared vacant and members will have the opportunity to vote for members to fill all the positions within the committee. The ANLAC committee is formed in two parts (The Executive Committee and the General Committee). Details of all committee positions are shown in Regulation 6 below.
The Executive committee is made up of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Registrar. If you would like to be considered as a candidate for one of these positions you will need to notify the Club Secretary at least 14 days prior to the Annual General Meeting, (unless nominating for the same position) such nomination is to include The Executive position for which the nominee is being nominated and must be signed by two (2) voting members of the club and the nominee.
 
2. Vote on recommendation for Life Membership
The AGM is an opportunity for the club to consider applications that recommend the granting of Life Membership to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to Athletics generally, to the work of the club in particular and has served the club with honour.
Nominations for a person to be considered for Life membership, may be submitted by members, setting out the history of the nominee and their reasons why they should be considered for Life Membership. Such nominations shall be must be received by the Secretary of The Club at least fourteen (14) days before the scheduled AGM meeting. 3. Changes to the ANLAC Constitution
The attending members will also have the opportunity to vote on the motion to update the ANLAC Constitution and Regulations. A summary of the changes is attached in the links below as well as copies of the ANLAC Constitution and Regulations with proposed changes marked (you may need to show all markup in MS Word).
